disclosure-ive always been an anti One and Done fella. sure, im a mid-major alum and love, dearly, that level of competition. i adore the upsets in the first round of March Madness.

that said,im all for the NLI monies the players can earn. i wish them all nothing but the best for their families.

but...i kinda like the appearance of a level playing field when playing for a postseason championship. on the drive to work today i wondered about a Big Dance for the cash rich teams that pay their guys very well. kind of a big 5 scenario.

And id like another postseason tournament for the rest of us, a Festivus March Madness. This could replace the NIT and CBI and CTI and CIT and CIB or whatever they're called.

i say this as a fan who adores when Ohio makes the NCAA tournament. And grieves for those great teams in smaller conferences who have a great regular season but dont win the conference tournament. i dislike the MAC only getting one bid per year based only on CLE. OUr Cats have certainly benefited from that scenario but i do feel bad for a Toledo team that won the regular season title three consecutive years without going to the dance.

just a half cooked thought...

I think that's called the NCAA D2 national championship. It's always interesting.

I don't feel bad for Toledo at all. If the roles were reversed, nobody would feel bad for Ohio. People get tired of hearing it on this board, but it will aways come down to three special days in March. Doesn't matter if Ohio is 29-3 or 16-16 going to Cleveland. Nobody remembers Christian's shared MAC regular season title...nobody. And 5-10-15 years from now, nobody will remember Toledo's three regular season MAC championships because they didn't make it to the dance. I know that ruffles some feathers here, but it's reality. MAC legends are made in March, not November-December-January-February.

1. We should drug test posters
2. I feel bad for Toledo, but it would have really helped if they would have beat Michigan.
3. I would rather watch the 2nd best MAC Team than the 9th best SEC Team in the NCAA Tournament
4. Our team is not headed in the right direction. We should be guiding 60-70% of this team into the portal.
