I’m just wondering what you who know the various sports here at Ohio think about the current status of Ohio athletics right now. Football seems to be okay based on the past season and was probably the best team in the conference - certainly over the last half of the season. Men’s basketball was okay, but obviously not a top 3 in my opinion. Women’s basketball was terrible and losing its top scorer and was terrible last year as well. Softball is average, but doing well in the MAC . I think volleyball came on strong after a terrible start as I remember, but is not a top MAC team anymore it seems. Tennis, swimming, golf, track, wrestling, I don’t keep up with so I’ll pass on those.

I haven’t really looked things up so my memory may be off on some of the sports, but I’m hoping those of you who follow certain sports a lot can chime in.

Just looked up some sports
Soccer - 10-7-2, 7-4-1 MAC
Field Hockey 8-9, 3-4 MAC
Volleyball 20-12 13-5 MAC
Baseball 7-14, 5-4 MAC
Women’s cross country 2nd in MAC championship

Our tennis program has been solid for the past 30 years.

I predict our men's track and field program improves bigly soon.

Wrestling has been a bit disappointing for a while.

Going to be interesting to see what ends up happening with the coaching
staff based on the assault allegations.

We have champagne wishes and caviar dreams.

But there aren't enough of us to make them happen.

If you don't see the OBVIOUS ties to a new NIL revenue stream involving quantum field theory well... Then I got nothing for you.

IMO the ideal level is when the Ohio sport has a head coach that has won a MAC Championship and extended for a long term contract.

A new coach or a failed coach (obviously) doesn't have the program built up to the extent it is with a successful and extended head coach. Easier to go into living rooms and recruit with proven success.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086
