Cruising around the MAC I had to laugh when reading the Balls board commenting on Emoni Bates

Not often you get to see Bevo in a thread outside SEO

Bevo seems to be more legendary than in our local poster's mind

Well I saw Bevo Francis play Anderson College at the old Anderson High Wigwam in front of a sold out crowd of4700 in 1952-53 season. Rio Grande and Bevo went 39-0 that year. Anderson College did not win.

I learned 2 new tidbits here.
-The Wigwam that burned only held 4700...rebuilt to hold 8000+
-Rio was 39-0 that year.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

Thanks for sharing, Borna. I never saw Bevo play, but I heard the legend as I was growing up. I did attend, along with a friend, the dedication of URG’s field house, a number of years ago. Though my memory is a little vague on this point, I believe that Bevo and some of his family were there for the dedication.
