Jake Hromada Leaving Ohio Athletics

From his personal account on Twitter:

"Today marks my final week with @OhioBobcats

There’s so much to say & feel, but all I can say is thank you to EVERYONE. I’m so grateful for you

I didn’t get to close out this chapter on my own in 2020 (COVID), so coming back has made me feel more whole"

I hope this a joke from someone who is a friend. Otherwise, WTF??

I'll miss Jake, best of luck at Ole Miss.

If you need a reminder of how bad local play by play truly can be, I caught some of a Long Beach State volleyball game a few days ago before I went to bed. The kid announcing was clearly a Long Beach State person, and every time they were referenced in the broadcast, he said it "....theeeeEEEE Beach!" After about the 5th or 6th time hearing this, which took like 5 minutes, I turned it off.

Agreed. Anyone who can't appreciate Jake, Russ, Rob, and the rest of the media staff at Ohio aren't watching/listening to many other alternatives. There are several 'bigger' schools that have lesser radio/TV on air talent. There are a lot of peer schools that don't have what we have at Ohio.

Jake will be missed. All the best to him!

Still surprised Russ is here and happy he is. Appreciate his passion and hopefully the athletic department is taking care of him financially, but at this level of play-by-play...tough to make a dent salary wise. He has to be itching to move on.
