I hope Tommy Threeman does well there! My girlfriend's parents both attended UMaine. They constantly ran into Stephen King who always attended the sporting events there. But they haven't been known to be good in any sports other than hockey.

Maine's one of the toughest gigs in the country. Best of luck.

That program is in extremely rough shape.

Congrats to Tommy.

Wonder how/if this affects our Hargrave pipeline and connections?

They've been decent in football occasionally, I think.

Looks like over the past decade, half or more of their rosters have come from overseas.

My preferred moment in U. Maine history is when hockey won a couple national titles and was buying guys or something. The U, but on ice. Kariya brothers. Garth Snow. Shawn Walsh took his NCAA penalty and died young of cancer, so it even had a Jimmy V vibe.

TFree is going to love a year or two in Maine. It's the West Virginia of the north, and that's a compliment.

I knew we got Sears, Ezuma, and then Gabe Wizintzer from the same school. I had not been aware that Tommy Freeman was the head coach or that Lamar Thornton was a coach there 6 years ago.

Hey, nice to hear from you Cousin Bob. I haven't seen a post from you in a long time. You're the kind of guy you probably will remember this, but didn't PaPaL win a conference title there before he came to OHIO?

[If you don't remember why I call you "Cousin Bob," PM me and I'll remind you.]

Last coach we hired from the University of Maine was Tom Lichtenberg

If you want to see Tommy on the bench, Maine will travel to Ohio State on 12/21 according to D1 Docket.

Highly doubtful, but my fingers are crossed Tommy’s team pulls off the upset.

I vaguely recall leading Maine to a national championship in some early 2000's college basketball video game. If I can do it than surely Tommy Freeman can!

I've seen crazier things happen.

Not entirely accurate but I am told I tend to be overly critical and nit picky...

Congrats to Tommy 3-man! One of my all-time favorite Bobcats. He has a big career ahead of him and I can totally see him being a Division-1 Head Basketball Coach one day. Well done Tommy!

Honest to god..the more I think about it...Tommy had one of the most underrated careers in Ohio hoops history. Dude was a warrior...game in and game out. That's all you can ask for. And his career numbers were excellent.

One of my favorite Tommy plays was when he dove to save a ball on Georgetown's baseline, batting it off of the Hoya to get Ohio the possession. He was way more than a sharp-shooter from three. He was a fine team player. One of my favorite college basketball players anywhere.

Well, from one nit-picker to another, congratulations on your son’s new gig. I’m excited to see how his coaching career unfolds.

Same here. I'd enjoy seeing him return to Athens in some coaching fashion one day.
