Does anyone have knowledge of what former Bobcats are doing currently in professional basketball?

I am disappointed to admit i could only communicate one hooper recent history, JP, with any degree of accuracy.

I used to be better than this! Im especially curious about N'dour and Tony Campbell.

Wikipedia lists Campbell as playing in numerous places since graduation. Lakeland Magic, Alaskan Aces (Philippine League), Turkey, China, Ukraine, and now Kazakhstan.

N'dour is similar: Mavericks, Spain, Knicks, Russia, Lithuania, and now Turkey.

It seems odd that although he’s had a long, successful career, he changed teams every single year.

After bouncing around Europe a little bit originally, Jerome Tillman is now in his 10th year playing in Japan.

Leon Williams is also still playing and has been in South Korea for awhile after bouncing around quite a bit. He will be 36 next month, so as far as I'm concerned that is impressive.

Footnote - Shaun Stonerook had probably the best international career of any of our alumni, an absolute beast in Italy up until about age 35.

Reggie Keely is apparently still playing. It doesn't appear he has stayed on any club for more than one season at a time. He is most recently in Iceland but also has stops in Slovenia, Finland, Czech Republic and so on.

Mo N'Dour is currently with Galatasaray in Istanbul after playing last season in Vilnius, Lithuania. He's been the Bobcat playing consistently at the highest level in Europe since leaving.

I seem to recall that foreign leagues had a rule where you could only have two Americans on each team. Is that still the case? If so, maybe that’s why everyone moves around so much. The American players are like wild cards.

Does DJ Cooper still play?

After leaving Ukraine, he went to the Israeli League and put up good numbers in 14 games: 8.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, 2.4 steals, 2.2 turnovers. Shot about 50% overall from the field, 32% on 3s. His team, Brei Ofek Dist Hertzeliya went 17-10 and I believe lost in the league finals, although Cooper did not play in the final two rounds of the playoffs.

I think it's a constraint created by work visas and works out to something like 2 non EU citizens per team. That's why you see so many American born players end up with European citizenship -- makes the work visa issue much easier.

goin' to the wayback machine, but John Deveraux (possibly my all time favorite Bobcat) played a number of years in Europe.

Nick Kellog played a few years on some Eurasian teams.

Danny Nee once said his worst decisions ever was not to redshirt John his first year. He was very raw and had only played a few years in high school if I'm not mistaken. He was a force his last few years, and another year would have sealed his legacy.

I don’t agree. John started and played many minutes his freshman year, which certainly helped him. He had a nice career and did well.

That's what I thought as well. The team wasn't that good yet but he wasn't out of place at all.

He wasn't out of place at all, and certainly gained a lot playing that year. But he also would have gained a lot playing against the first team that season. But I would prefer to have had John's talents during a fifth year of play than what we got that first year.

Well, you could probably say that about any player all through the years.
