Really like this and mentioned it on the recruiting page. Do we know how many years of eligibility he will have at Ohio?

Those are some really weird three point shooting stats out of ODU. 41 made threes leads the team for the season. 4.4 made threes per game. 0.339 is the best individual percentage.

He's played three, one of which was the COVID season that didn't count, so he should have two years left.

Excited about this pickup. He seemed like the best guard on that Old Dominion team this year and will be eager to see him in the Green and White next year.

Great season he just had. 4 assists per game (2 to 1 assist to TO ratio)
84% at the FT line. 39% from three career. Started 32 games last season.

Cool.

He will fit in nicely alongside Miles and either BRod or AJ Brown on the wing. Then you can toss DW3, Witzniker or Clayton into the 4-5 spots. We still have an open scholly right? Maybe use that on a 3 man.

Threw this out on the recruiting board as well….

Looks like what’s a 3 star coming out of high school. Searching Twitter quickly, it looks like he had recent interest from VCU, Southern Illinois, BYU and Wofford.

So safe to say if he has a good year he'll be off to Bloomington. One year of eligibility for us, one for the Hoosiers, who says no?!

I wish this was accurate but that is his total FG %. 30% from 3 for his career. 33.9% this past season.

Relatedly - I was hoping for more of an outside shooter, but otherwise it seems like a good pickup at this stage.

Don't count on this ever happening. I trust our coaching staff that they know what they're doing in player evaluations. Me, personally, I'm not an advocate of point guards 6-1 and under unless they are elite talents. If he has the skill level to start at Indiana, I don't believe he'd be here, as he's already played three seasons in college. Hope he does well. I'll try to get a line on him from Walter Luckett since he played his senior season in Connecticut.

We also need to keep in mind it’s a two-way street. Dibba, Blondeau, and Horton, for example, might not be interested in coming to Athens.

He led his CT HS to a state title. His father was an asst at UConn and the original thought was that Jaylin would walk on at UConn. But then he blew up his senior season and got a lot of D1 offers.

Huh? I'm not sure I'm following you but you name dropped Walter Lucket so you must be in the know.

If I could place a bet right now on if he will be a rostered Indiana Hoosier for the 23-24 season I would do it without a second thought.

He was already a sports management major at ODU (and a strong academic student) and now he's coming to the best sports management program there is, which will require more than one year to complete. For that reason alone, I think he'll stay.

So after all of the transfer portal chaos that has been thoroughly discussed on this board, you mean to tell me that he would forgo a 1 year opportunity to play his final season of college basketball, for his father nonetheless, at a Big 10 traditional powerhouse (not to mention NIL???) so he can get another degree?

There's no green kool-aid. It's just common sense. do you really think Jaylin is still trying out...for his father? Do you think he called his Dad and said he wanted to xfer to IU, but dad said "how about one more year of grooming yourself at a midmajor" then maybe you can come here next year? Or do you think his dad just doesn't know what type of player his son is? If there is some academic reason for him to xfer after one year at Ohio to go to Indiana, sure. Otherwise, why wouldn't he xfer to Indiana now if that was his endgame? They decided they would do their own thing for various reasons basketball-wise. Or Jaylin was already told he wasn't big14 caliber as part of tough-love conversation.
