Hopefully we get a big crowd because of Sibs week / Ohio BB Alumni meet. Not underestimating Western Mich by any means but they've been putrid in MAC play. Hopefully we give the starting guys more rest.

I wonder if there's any concern about WMU not being able to make the trip because of the weather...? Hoping that roads are okay by midday Friday and they can make the drive. (Or flight?)

They played (and lost) in Mt. Pleasant tonight, so I'd guess that they'll fly into either Athens or Columbus (if Athens is iced in) sometime tomorrow.

Hopefully with the storm being out of Michigan already and leaving SEO later today this game will start as planned.

Would love to see a repeat performance of last night in this one. WMU has played a couple teams close but they've also lost quite a few games by double digits.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I watched Western play at Central last night. Two pretty bad teams, with Central pulling away in the last five minutes. Western is now 0-11 in the MAC. A sibs weekend blowout would be ideal. I'd like to see an entire half of the starters resting, but that may be asking too much. Western is not good but they still look like a D-1 team most nights. And Ohio has played down to the competition plenty of times before this season.

Hopefully Coach can get the bench some minutes earlier in the game than he typically would, even if the starters have to play later into the second half. Having fresh legs for Tuesday would be a big deal.

I want to say, before Jeff Mac comes on here to tell us otherwise, that this is a team us fans can look past and get hyped for Tuesday's titanic matchup in Toledo. OUr boys will face little resistance from the Broncos.

They had Akron beat handily in Akron before they completely collapsed. I believe it was 12-0 in the last 2-3 minutes and lost by 1 or 2. But should show us anything is possible.

That said, if this game does get canceled and has trouble being made up that would be a kick in the nuts for us to have our easiest conference game of the year, at home, be taken away.

Captain Obvious checking in to say that Western is led by the MAC's second-leading scorer in Duquesne transfer Lamar Norman. He's hit by far the most threes in the league and is in the top 20 percentagewise.

After that, there's not much positive to say about Western. They are dead last in turnover margin and assist-to-turnover ratio. Last in defensive rebounds. Last in assists. And hovering near the basement in most other statistical categories.

Their record is not a fluke. A close game would be a shame and a loss would be an unmitigated disaster.

Hope roads are clear enough. If weather wasn't an issue, this would have the recipe for a well-deserved 10K+ crowd.

What was the two day weather in Athens?

Well, amazingly, Ruck stole my thunder.

I also saw the WMU at CMU game.

This is a complete mismatch. Ohio will be favored by 20. Still, we have to show up and take care of business. We've seen what can happen when we don't. Concordia, etc.

Out of curiously, anyone know how many snow plows does the City of Athens have? Athens County?

Main roads are basically clear at this point. I don’t think travel will be an issue for anyone traveling main roads.

Back in the '70s the City used a roller-brush street sweeper to clear snow off the streets. It got the snow off, but it also polished the ice so it was nice and slick.

I can see a similar game like we played against Ball State. Hopefully our second and third team guys get to shine. I'm picking this game for IJ to potentially break out. He's shown some flashes of what he can do this year.

Back in December Ohio beat them by 12 up there, but the lead was only four at the half and seven with just about 11 mins left. Of course, Ohio was struggling back then.

True, but I think we've gotten better since. That was an ugly one but now we have film to review of them to prepare for Saturday.

I came up from Nashville for yesterday's and tomorrow's game against WMU. I'm staying at the OU Inn and Western's team is here as well. Roads are pretty clear. Have no doubt there will be a game tomorrow.

Athens County is now down to a level 2 so I'd fully expect the game to be on tomorrow. That said, side an country roads are still a mess.

Like I said, I'm not underestimating them. They will remember we beat them pretty handily on their home court and I expect them to come out swinging Saturday. BUT I'm sure the guys will be prepared and make adjustments when necessary.
