Just did a quick comparison of the Seeds that teams received compared to their KenPom rating and here are the winners and losers:

WINNERS SEED/KENPOM
Oklahoma St 4/8 -4
West Virginia 3/7 -4
Texas 3/7 -4
Clemson 7/10 -3
Kansas 3/6 -3
Missouri 9/11 -2
Oregon 7/9 -2
Florida 7/9 -2
Arkansas 3/5 -2

LOSERS SEED/KENPOM
Wisconsin 9/3 +6
Loyola Chicago 8/3 +5
UConn 7/4 +3
St. Bonaventure 9/6 +3
Villanova 5/3 +2
USC 6/4 +2
Maryland 10/8 +2

Everybody else was +/- 1 or even. Both Virginia and Ohio were +1. Per KenPom we were a 12 and UVa was a 3. For what it's worth.

I saw Sagarin has Virginia #8 in the country which sounds scary. Ohio at #107...still behind Toledo & Buffalo. But in the "recent" column, Ohio is #43 and Virginia #24.

Pomeroy does his analytics from what I am reading, based on equations and values he assigns?

Sagarins are based on computer analysis of records, opponent's records and opponent's opponents records.

Do I have that right?

Interesting comparisons to look at and use. I think I will try to look at those versus the NET ratings.

I believe Ken Pomeroy's are based on statisical analysis (offense, defense, rebounding, shooting weighted against strength of opponents) more than the win/loss results. Sagarin ratings only account for wins, losses and scoring margin.
