Kind of big news last night. If it ended today, we'd face Akron in the quarters. I know that game is going to be difficult obviously, but not seeing Buffalo until possibly the title game would be nice. And also...BG would face Buffalo in quarters today...amazing.

You look at all of the possible matchups in quarters....semis and finals....and Ohio finishing 5th in my opinion is much better than 3rd.

I too would rather face BG or Akron up front.

Miami is playing their best basketball of the last decade.

Toledo also lost...to CENTRAL MICHIGAN!!!! Looks like the tourney may be wide open. Remember, last year Fiami won a first-round game as a 12 seed.

Miami lost to BG last night on a last second tip in. The tip by Fields came with 0.7 seconds left for the win - or so it appeared. However, after many looks at replay, the refs got it right. They disallowed the go-ahead tip because for some reason the running clock stopped for a second (or fraction of a second) allowing the tip to occur prior to time running out. Never saw this before. Game went to OT where Miami won.

“...for some reason the running clock stopped for a second...”. Hmmm. Game at BG. Gosh, I wouldn’t even know where to begin as to what might have happened. ;)

Same people who ran the clock at the 1972 Olympics finals.

Officials actually start and stop the clock in today's college games. lots of technology and lots can go south. When an official blows their whistle the clock stops, they turn the clock on with a belt-pack when the ball is inbounded. The scorers table serves as a back up timing system.

Didn’t realize that is the case. Seems like a real step forward. Thanks for sharing.

Miami +5.5 was easy money.

Was listening to the Miami radio version of the game......Miami's SID used to work at BG......he let Steve Baker know on air that there is/was a verified electronic hiccup or miscommunication between the shot clock and the main or scoreboard clock, that, under a minute when it switches display to tenths, it is by definition, fractionally off.

Known issue by the manufacturers of the equipment and those who run the facility, and in essence is part of the ground rules for the building. Officials know and expect it when they do a game there. Anything close would be reviewed with an even more fine toothed comb than usual.

Am honestly shocked have more issue with data interaction with all the things now being fed across mixed brands of equipment of differing ages and formats.

BG lost its 6th straight home game last night and was swept by Miami. What's more, Justin Turner got injured on the final play of regulation, and they lost in OT. Talk about things going about as bad as they can in a matter of seconds, especially if Turner's injury keeps him out with the MAC Tournament looming.

Well if anything like that actually happened, it screwed them instead of helping them. It looked like had the clock not stopped the bucket would have counted with 0.2 seconds left. Instead they took the bucket away because it briefly stopped. The clock literally stopped for a fraction of a second. The review lasted 10 minutes. I think someone on BG's press row may have lost their job after that one.
