If you look at Campbell's scores and stats, this will not be an easy game by any stretch. Hope our Cats come to play tomorrow! I believe they will.

They are a strong defensive team re opponents' FG% and forcing turnovers.

Campbell was selected middle of the pack in the Big South preseason picks. Radford, Winthrop and several others were forecast ahead of them. Of course the Bobcats were picked in the bottom of the MAC and it would be a shock if that happens.

No Ohio home games when students are gone are on because of the lack of necessary help to produce the games for TV, apparently, although it's been discussed over and over on this board that every other school seems to find a way to get it done.

But does anyone care?

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it - did it even happen?

Not a good way to end the non-con. Growing pains are here.

Were you? And if so what happened. This is very confusing to me but I didn’t watch it since I’m out of town.

One thing that surprised me was Miles Brown starting... Played 25+ minutes as well. Granted, Campbell is a team that will turn you over so, he was no doubt in there for his ball handling skills but, to me, this is a good sign that he is showing well in practice.
BVP needs to hit the front of some one and one's soon or teams will start pulling a Hack a Shaq on him...

We played that game with 2 guards with experience and a freshman starting his first game. Without Dartis or heck, even Roderick we are in trouble. Guards are key and you cannot win without at least 4 serviceable guards.

Bright side is that when healthy is there a better MAC trio than Jordy, Preston and BVP?

Yep. This game was a very close hard fought game from the start until the 2 minute mark at which time we literally fell apart including two consecutive possessions when no one and I mean no one got back and they lobbed the ball over the top for easy layups. When your 3 guards, and that's all that played, go 5 for 24 and one doesn't score and you play against a team that plays at Campbell's pace, you can't afford to shoot that percentage. Today's game was a classic case of where experience won out over experience in a tight game.

Well stated. Provided no one else suffers an injury, I think this team can be an entirely different beast with Dartis and Roderick available. It's also telling that Marvin Price did not play.

I hesitate to call this a bad loss. Certainly unexpected, but this is not at the same level as BG losing to Quinnipiac and Norfolk State. Say what you will about their schedule, but Campbell they are still a nine win club.

Hard to tell what you got when what you got is habitually injured. It is just unbelievable how this program has been devastated by injury and illness over the past half-dozen years. Puts Boals in a really, really tough place to even field a line-up while juggling who should probably be red-shirted.

4 for 20 from 3 and 19 for 52 from the field...that is...not good. Dartis is so important, makes me scared for losing him after this season.

Happy Miles Brown got a full dose of minutes, even if he struggled. Had to get that experience before MAC play hits.

Not a bad opponent but not a good game. Hopefully some lessons learned.

Hoping B Rod will help ease the loss of Jordy eventually, but you're right we're gonna need another gunslinger soon.

These are the type of games that I expected from us in the preseason. Young team that will struggle big time especially if injuries hit. This team lives and dies with the 3 ball as a lot of teams. If they can't hit shot they are done. Bobcats do not get to the free thrown line much and don't make them at a great rate when they do. With all the freshmen they have lapses on defense at times too. They have some guys that will grow into very good players, but its gonna take time. If they can keep this team healthy and together they could be really good next couple years.

Ogbonda, a senior, played 22 minutes before fouling out. Rest of the minutes were played by frosh and sophs. McMurray (10th man with everyone healthy?) played 28 minutes.

And Foster was just coming back from a few games out so let's not forget about the momentum he had before his injury. He was playing substantive and solid minutes for us. Unfortunately for us to be contenders or even .500 in MAC play we need everyone healthy that has played thus far. If Murrell doesn't come back for some reason this season we have done well without him anyways.

As for McMurray, I am loving his hustle. He may be a 10th man if all healthy but I could see him giving us 4 to 5 great minutes a night.

And can anyone expound on Price? I know that high school stats and such don't matter but this kid was a winner, a scorer and came ready size-wise. He has lost or is close to losing his redshirt due to garbage minutes right? How does he not play against Campbell when we only have 3 guards healthy?

Maybe he didn’t play because he’s being considered for a red-shirt?

Well, I worked in the athletics department at Campbell for 6 years and never in a bazillion years would I have ever thought that my beloved alma mater would play the Camels let alone lose to the Camels. I really enjoyed my time at Campbell but this is a low, low tier DI program. When I was there, they played basketball games in Carter Gym which was a step down from my junior high's gym. Carter Gym seated under 1,000 and it was an absolutely horrific facility - a single men's restroom and a single women's restroom, for example. Original everything throughout the gym except for maybe the scoreboards. It was bush league in every conceivable way. Granted, they have since built a 3,500 "arena" but to think that we're anywhere near that level makes me want to vomit. We're not, I know, but I guess I'd like to think that we could suit up a manager and still compete against or beat a very average Big South team. Oh, and for the record, I am super excited about Jeff Boals and I know he'll do a great job so no offense to him or what he's already done with the team, etc. I'm just astounded we lost to Campbell - a small, rural school in Buies Creek, NC with limited resources. Yes, far more rural than Athens, Ohio and a much, much smaller budget.
