I'll be attending this year's event with my two adult children, it seems members of my proverbial wolfpack have real world commitments this year. I will post almost real time feedback as I get it.

any questions non BC attendees would like asked?

-Upcoming capital project priorities of the Athletic Department now that the Sook Center and Scoreboard projects are complete. Are there any funding initiatives for a basketball/volleyball practice facility?

I was told that capital projects are taking a backseat to the development of new revenue streams to support the student athlete experience. Medical/mental health care, improved nutrition, etc. Have a feeling we're not going to see any practice facilities for several years.

That's a great start though. I like that.

Philosophies on basketball scheduling - in particular, trying to schedule regional opponents in the OVC, Horizon, A10 rather than MEAC and SWAC schools.

Also re: scheduling, views on home games compared to getting an extra game or two on the road against a "quality opponent" that could end up as a Q1/Q2 game.

I'll add....

For Coach Boals:
How does the coaching staff envision using the combination of new recruits and the players who remained from Saul's coaching staff? Would they play 9-10 players, or have a tighter rotation?

For Jim Schaus:

How does he envision using the solicited feedback from the emails that went out? What changes, if there are examples, could he mention now?

For Schaus:

How much effort has gone into asking the community for help in operations, as budgets get tighter and tighter? Is this even possible with liability and union employee issues at play? There are so many little, inexpensive fixes that could be done to Peden Stadium and the Convo that would help improve gameday experience, from a coat of paint to certain areas, to powerwashing concrete to simply sweeping up in corners of the stadium. Just little things that elevate the experience. And does he feel there are people who would be willing to volunteer to help with these things?

I've always wondered if we weren't under-utilizing a group of people who would like to take action rather than just complain about things. Then I've always wondered if there were reasons we didn't or if I'm overestimating the number of people who would like to help.

I don't think Schaus usually takes questions at these things

Schaus would tell you that he has no control over facilities maintenance, etc. I've been a strong advocate of painting areas of Peden and was told those decisions come from above.

Thanks. I figured there was something I was missing there.

Maybe not control, but I’m sure Schaus has input into facilities recommendations. If not that would be a pretty bad bureaucracy to not even listen to your athletic director.

Agreed. The things that were mentioned (or are always mentioned) aren't even budget busters or things that should require a vote at the Board of Directors. We're talking paint, more effective exterior lighting, power washing and some sweeping, and some better promotional banners inside and outside.

The rest of us appreciate the dedication! If I could, this is where I would insert an actual applause video/meme/gif.

room was bigger than one at Boathouse and it was near full capacity. definitely SRO.

Jeff is pretty darn social, he approached me to speak. he was a biology major, wanted to be a physical therapist originally. lived in james,Sergeant, College Inn and on Stimson.

6 players left, 2 are not practicing. yet.

4 visits next week, he looks up to all of them. said six ten, six eleven guys.

wants three things in a player:
*high character
*love basketball, gym rats (my phrase)
*serious about getting degree

non-negotiables: go to class, attitude, effort.

big thing to him: student involvement

Jordan cleared two weeks ago. getting some court time. said he is a Shotmaker, not a shooter. big difference.

of new recruits could only speak about Roderick. regulations.

Jeff's first Ohio ball he signed raffled off - went to owner of Moerlein! was totally legit, not rigged. seriously. that was a neat moment, Greg looked excited to win.

I echo everything from OBC2. I tell you what... even Schaus was excited and approachable. Boals knows what he is doing folks. Buckle up!

Solich is damn good. I can see why he has turned this program around.

We are blessed right now and the Alumni should open up and support.

Thanks for all the info. I’m not sure I understand what you mean here.
Six have left program and 2 others not coming to practices?
