A literal shower thought I had today. Here are the scholarship players on our 2021 team that won the conference and an NCAA Tournament game:

Jason Preston
Lunden McDay
Ben Roderick
Ben Vander Plas
Dwight Wilson
Mark Sears
Miles Brown
Jalen White
Sam Towns
Mason McMurray
Rifen Miguel
Nolan Foster
Colin Granger

In 2041, 51, 61 maybe we honor the anniversaries of this team like we sometimes do at halftimes or during timeouts. How many of these players would show up? How many of these players would you want to show up?

I'd want each and every one of them to show up. They were on the team that upset the defending national champions. They all deserve to be celebrated.

What could have been with Lundo McDay the following season. Waiting until the season began to walk away was a gut punch to the roster.

I know he didn't amount to much last year but this year Jalen White is having a very solid season for Nicholls State. Averaging 8 ppg. I really liked his game and thought he'd be a solid contributor. Same with Nolan Foster. I would take Nolan Foster right now for sure. Once again, I know Foster hasn't done a ton since leaving but I think he would be solid with this group of guards around him. And White could flat out shoot. I thought Rife was going to really amount to something and he had a few solid games but his attitude didn't seem positive.

Just a reminder that by season's end, the rotation was extremely short. Preston & BVP played all 40 minutes several times. DW3, McDay & Roderick were all 30+ and Sears was the 6th man. Nobody else got more than a few minutes down the stretch.
