If you were looking for a gauge on that Cleveland State loss…

Youngstown State drilled CSU 94-69 last week.

Some fun nuggets:
- The O/U has gone OVER in 17 of the last 20 Youngstown State games on the road.
- OU is 13-2 in their last 15 vs the Horizon League.

Who gets credit for Saturday's win? From afar (several rows behind the bench), it appeared all three assistant coaches took turns getting up and giving instructions to the players on the floor as well as talking to a ref. Either Boals' career record had a game added to his career wins total (doubtful) or one of the 3 asst. coaches is now 1-0 as a DI head coach. Or, least likely, all three were given a third of a win.

I think it's Boals. There was a season back when Coach K had surgery or something and missed like 90% of it, but all the wins and losses counted against his record.

Boals is still the HC. He recruited the guys. He trained the guys. It's his plays, his game plan etc. Believe the HC gets the stat regardless.

Did Harbaugh go 3-0 during his 3-game suspension?

I originally picked this game as one of our losses. If we get past YSU tonight, I like our chances to run the table against the rest our non-conference schedule.

The metrics like Ohio in tonight's matchup. They're favored in the following models:

KenPom: 69% - Ohio 80-75
Bart Torvik: 80% - Ohio 84-75
ESPN BPI: 68.9%

Like I said prior to the George Washington game, this contest can go either way but we're certainly expected to win according to the deeper numbers. These are the type of games that a good Ohio team "should" win at home.

No idea, but being suspended and being out sick strike me as two very different situations.

Quite pleased that Coach is back.
It can only mean the virus was not very serious in his case.
Great News

BOALS COMEBACK GAME

But really... after watching YSU beat Cleveland State by 30... I wouldn't have questioned Youngstown being favored by 8.5

Gonna need our A game. They like to score. Hopefully we do too.

The close win over Delaware picked up value when the Blue Hens upset Xavier.

That was one ugly half. Missed a lot of easier shots. Love our guard play but we need to stop dribbling into into three guys and losing the ball. I think they also have a few more offensive rebounds.

Worried about our offense. Going to need a strong 2nd half just like against Delaware.

At least we are hitting FTs.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Watching The Whiz go up against the 7’3 freshman has been something to watch. It’s like watching Wilt vs Russell. What a classic big man matchup of skill.

Time to sit AJB. He’s either clearly playing at only 30% or he’s completely mental at this point with his shot because he has the shooting yips. Have to sit him to either get healthy or maybe change his luck as the 6th man. He’s hard to watch right now. Zero confidence.

If I was coaching against Ohio I would have my defender give AJB all the room he wants and beg him to shoot from outside. I have to believe his injured shoulder is preventing him from getting his shooting form and/or the necessary strength. His recent play has become a liability on the offensive end, pretty much giving the defense a 5 on 4 advantage.
