The article says up to 200 universities may close in the next few years. Even a slight dip in enrollment will be enough to push some over the edge. Declining foreign students will be a big factor, as they pay cash. Many potential freshman might take the year off or go the community college path if it’s online only. Community colleges biggest beneficiaries.

The election will have a lot to say about foreign students.

And, apparently, the tax exempt status of universities that the current administration deems to be too liberal.

Looks like the administration has walked back on this announced policy.

Wouldn't be surprised if 30 years from now (maybe even ten) colleges with on-campus classes will be a very small minority of schools.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.

They walked back the policy that would have allowed ICE to deport international students whose schools were only offering remote classes.

But international enrollment's down just over 10% during the Trump administration. Either way, this election will have a big impact on school revenue from international students and, more broadly, the economic benefit we receive from international students after they graduate.
