Nice joke, but that's not the way they view in their own minds? Here's from their official history as summarized on their web site:

I have seen this "Yale of the West" reference in 19th century writing, so it was used some. Frankly, it does *sound* better than Harvard on the Hocking! But, nonetheless, Miami does suck!
