Non-AQ peer budget benchmarking. Note I've excluded any school planned/rumored for the Big East. Private Universities are also excluded because of high tuition inflates value of scholarship aid given out.

UAB 25.1--6.6--2.7
Marshall 24.7--8.5--2.4
UTEP 23.6--7.7--3.5
So Miss 20.4--6.4--1.8

WAC Total Revenues--FB--MBB (In millions)

Nice work Wes.

Interesting the placement of Ohio amongst the tops in Expenses. Not real sure what to take away from the figures.

The biggest takeaway I've gathered is that Ohio has moved from an athletic budget that benchmarks against Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan in the lower tier of the MAC back in 2005 to a budget that benchmarks well against Marshall and Fresno State. Tom Boeh who is now the AD at Fresno State complained frequently about the challenges faced by funding at the MAC lower tier level. The next AD Kirby Hocutt hired by the new administration said the model for OHIO athletics was to be like Utah and provide both football and basketball significant levels of support. Utah is in the PAC-12 but OHIO now has a budget the size of Fresno State and is paying Solich about the same as Pat Hill. When Boeh left for Fresno State, OHIO had roughly half the budget of Fresno at the time. Significant funding inroads have been made by the program over the last 8 years.
