Ohio is planning to add 3,900 new beds on campus. This is roughly a 50% increase in housing stock. I can't imagine a long range plan to move down to Division II is in the cards.

Just to clarify the new beds will replace South Green rooms which are very high maintence . Once the new rooms are constructed high maintaince dorms will be torn down. There will not be an increase in the total number of rooms available.

Unca Wes, that seems to be a non sequiter.  What am I missing?

There are only 6 (of 287) DII schools with enrollments of 15,000+.  Ohio would be an absolute outcast there.

Though, I still think largely those who think they want DII are actually advocating for FCS, they just don't know what they're talking about.

I'm talking here about the Steve Hays idea of moving to the athletic department down to DII. OHIO is going to be at 40,000 system wide students within a few years. Factoring in a yearly tuition increase of 3.5% with another 5,000 students in the system, I can't see why DII would ever be entertained. OHIO is one of the historic campuses of a state which makes it a major state school. I don't think the Governor would even allow the school to declassify if it even wanted to.
