I wasn't sure where else to post this, so hopefully those who knew Bob can find this post here.

I've had several people mention Bob Axline in response to my posts here on BA, so I wanted to share the news that Bob passed away in Dayton yesterday (7/27) of a heart attack.

Bob was a great friend to Ohio, was Alumnus of the year, served on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the OUAA, and was a student athlete in Swimming at Ohio.  He was a supporter of ICA, and a donor to the recently established BB Enhancement Fund.  He was also fortunate to be present for the Ohio victory versus Georgetown in the NCAA tourney last year, and attended several athletic events each year with his wife Jean.

Bobcat Nation should take a moment to remember Bob and his contribution to Ohio University and Ohio Athletics.

We would not have budget issues at Ohio if there were more Bob Axlines out there.  He led by example.  I have had the good foturne to serve on a board at the university with him for the past decade or so.  He was a smart businessman and loved Ohio University.  He was a good fundraiser and encouraged others to give their time and money from the heart.  RIP Bob.
