TMD's MAC Tournament Preview

There are three legitimate favorites heading to Geneva. Ohio is the top seed and came on very strong at the end; WMU is a very deserving MAC West champion and is all but a lock to get an at-large bid if it doesn't win the tourney outright and Bowling Green is the sleeper team that might be the scariest squad in the field. That's before you look at an NIU outfit that keeps growing and the defending tournament champs from CMU.

All in all, it's going to be a great tournament.

With all due respect to TMD, Ohio won 12 straight and 14 of 15 after their opening loss to BG in the MAC ... not sure where "Ohio came on strong ...." plays in the evaluation. Seems the Cats were strong from start to finish. Secondly, Western Mich in the NCAA tournament as an at-large? Lower RPI and lower MAC tourney seeding (I get the West is better) does not seem to warrant such adulation. Maybe if they lose to the Cats in the MAC final, but way too early for that call. Not-with-standing OU's 3-0 sweep of Western Mich a few weeks ago (in Athens). Good luck this week Cats! Bring home the MAC tourney title!
