VCU at 11:00 A.M.

I noticed that VCU not only plays OHIO this Friday, but also plays State at 7:00 p.m., which now explains to me the early start to our game. Wonder if anyone from State might sneek a peek at VCU in the Convo? Will be interesting to see how our scores match up to the Bucknuts.

VCU was 27-9 last year and picked 3rd this year in the Colonial conference. Lost 2 key players.

p.s. During the match at St John's Arena a few years ago when we played (swept) State in the NCAA tournament, someone had a sign, on one side reading, "We're OHIO", and on the other side, "You're State".

Who in their right mind would agree to this arrangement? There will be no one from OSU in attendance for this match. Kind of reminds me of the year we played two MAC basketball tournament games in one day.

VCU is actually doing Ohio a favor.

One of the teams for the Louisville tournament backed out.

Ryan needed an August 27 match in order to start training camp when originally scheduled.

He looked far and wide with no luck.

He contacted VCU and found someone willing to help him out.

He offered to play VCU in Columbus.

VCU declined not wanting "THE" to gain a scouting advantage.

Therefore this is why Ohio is playing VCU at 11:00am.

I say Thank You VCU for being a good sport.

PS, I was at the Men's Basketball double header for the MAC Tournament in Toledo. Don't come in last place and we don't have to play twice in one day.

Does anyone know if there will be free webstreaming, like last year, for all home volleyball games on ohiobobcats.com and will any other OHIO teams have this?(I really want to see today's game, because I saw that some VCU we talking trash.)

This is one of the few ways I can really follow the teams at OHIO since I live in Florida.

About to head over to the Convo, looking forward to this match. I hope we whup 'em, but appreciate VCU for helping us out of a tight spot!

First set was 25-15, not 25-14. We didn't completely dominate, but there was never a point that the lead was in question. Solid game by Meryl at her first game as libero. Sue looked she was on a mission. Impressive showing from Mandy. Michelle amazes me with her passes. Katie had a quiet 8 kills for .800 hitting percentage. Lexie had a solid debut for the Bobcats with 6 kills and 6 block assists.

VCU coach seemed to disagree with every call that went against his team, even becoming verbal with the head official near the end of the 3rd set. I'm not saying that the officials were anywhere near perfect, but counting the number of mistakes out loud is something that a coach should not do if they expect to get questionable calls later on.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

VCU dropped their later game at OSU, but did pick up a victory in the first set. They fell 3-1 (25-17, 13-25, 16-25, 16-25).
