It looks like there will be a video feed available from the TCU website for tomorrow's game.  I think this will be the link:  www.gofrogs.cstv.com/allaccess/index.html ;

Or you can go to the TCU website, click on athletics, click on volleyball and down in the bottom left corner is a bar with three choice: "frog zone", "features", and "tickets".  Click on features and on bottom left you can select "all access" which doesn't seem to have fee associated with it as I can currently see TCU warming up for their next match against UTSA.  There is a grayed out box that you can't currently click on that lists tomorrow's game with Ohio.

Sounds like we gave away another game...can't be doing this if we expect to win a NCAA game.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

TCU game showed some key weak points for the team.
1. Pour passing - we gave too many points on passing and killed many chances to run our strong offense. We can't depend on the DS and Libero in all first ball contacts.

2. Overdriven - The team played like they were on too much steroid remaining at maximum speed at all time. I'd rather see us getting into more "controlling" mode. Controlling the balls and directions in efficient style.
Mixing different paces to make the game unpredictable. TCU was just placing the balls all over on our court.

3. Serving - when we fall many points behind or in extended match, consider some conservative serves.

Each player:

Sue has progressed so well in her offense and defense. Two things; 1. Obviously, passing. 2. Mix up your shorts. Hate to see you overuse your body or get injured.

Katie: She is great. Just let loose sometime.

Faith: Her jump has really good hang time. Two things: 1. shot decision - there were many line shots that were opened but you kept cutting the balls for the blocks. 2. Your swing has too much curve which makes it easy to dig.

Mandy: Not sure if she still has any physical problem like last year. Her performance at OU is about Div II. The last three key points of set 3 with TCU were really embarassing.

Meryl: Love your energy. Keep it up and keep dancing.

The team this weekend beat two very mediocre teams and lost to a marginally good team.  OU will face better competition in the MAC. Even the matches that were won were made more difficult by OU’s lack of ability to pass the ball under control.   UAB and UTSA did not have nearly the offensive weapons or blocking ability that OU had yet were able to stay in games or keep them close due, in part, to their ability to control the ball and pass.

While it’s always fun to watch a big spike what is under appreciated is the fact that every spike begins with a pass. It’s passing and ball control that allows a team to run an offense. Everything is connected and it all starts with ball control.   I’m sure there is a stat kept that shows how often an offense is run “in system”.   It would be interesting to see what that percentage looks like for OU.

Ball control like hitting and blocking is an attitude.   If a team doesn’t think they can pass then they can’t. Right now I believe this team accepts the label that they cannot pass or play good defense. That attitude has got to change! OU has the weapons and believes it is strong offensively and that it is an intimidating blocking team.   What is it going to take to believe that it is a good ball control team as well?

The team also has the ability and players to control the ball, but must buy into the attitude that ball control is important on every point.   Not just the DS’s, but every single player on the court and on the sideline including the coaches. (It’s the coach’s job to foster this attitude and to put players in a position to succeed.) Everyone has to have the attitude that ball control is vitally important.   Everyone must do their part and carry their load not only in games, but in practice each day as well.   It starts with everyone thinking and saying we can control the pass, we can play defense, we will run our offense in system.

The most exciting thing to watch in vollebyall is the perfect pass because it leads to an exceptional kill that gets everyone excited which leads to the next perfect pass which leads to another kill and so on and so on - you see everything is connected.

Defense wins Championships!
