With four recruits coming for official visits, Boals has a chance to build his team pretty quickly. If he can get at least two of these to commit, he has the start of making his mark. If he goes 0 for 4, that'll be a bit concerning. Can't wait to see what comes out of this.

Coming to visit:

--Ben Roderick (appears to be the biggest fish Boals is trying to catch)

--Morgan Safford

--Charlie Daniels?

And a mystery fourth candidate, though maybe Lunden McDay to lock up his commitment?

Nice to see these guys using the last weekend before signing day to visit Ohio. I think that’s a really good sign.

For sure we will be returning Vander Plas, Preston and Murrell as guys with experience as well as two untested big guys in Springs and McMurray. I like the approach of trying to shore up that guard group with McDay, Safford and Roderick to team with Preston and possibly Darty. Then hopefully he can get some more big guys with athleticism and post play to round it out. Murrell and Vander Plas are your wing guys with size but truly we have no rebounding AT ALL.

Check Vander Plas' rebounding stats in several games. He can do it when he puts his mind to it.

Or the other team is very short.

He led the team in rebounds per minute on the defensive end. The big difference between he and Doug Taylor and Jason Carter was on the offensive boards but he played a lot more on the perimeter than they did so that is expected. I don't worry a bit about BVP's ability to rebound. We are going to need to give him some help though.

I didn't mean to imply I doubted BVP's rebounding. I remember him being able to hold his own down low. I was hinting at the fact that if we go guard-heavy with 4 or 5 of the open schollies we have to have some big, athletic rim rockers to be able to play immediately, whether they are post guys or wings. I feel like if you put Preston, BVP and 2 of Roderick, McDay or Safford with a grad transfer or JUCO guy, our starting 5 won't be too bad. Bring Darty back and it only enhances depth. But let's face it, we haven't had real depth in the last 3 years.

Ben seemed to get more comfortable doing more things as the year went on. He's got skills and probably will be an all-MAC player no later than his junior season.

Jeff, did you try to reach me? It appears that a shot was blocked at the rim.

How do you know there are 4 recruits coming for official visits?

Somewhere it was announced that there are four recruits coming. I'm not sure, but maybe Zach Fleer tweeted it?

I’ll put it in the trunk of Thornberry’s Crown Vic.

Can take off from Jeff Hill if necessary....passing over Vinton County is a tad too dangerous.

Signing period is April 17- May 15. Yes it is good to have them in the last weekend before window opens, but no guarantee this is their only visits during spring signing period.

I’m pretty sure that Arkley quoted Boles on that a few days back.

I was at the volleyball scrimmage today and saw Boals and other coaches with three guys. I’m assuming Roderick, Safford, and Daniels. Two guards and a big. Also saw most of the team remaining follow the group into the Rohr Room.

Correction. After looking up photos, it was McDay, Safford, and Daniels I saw.

Not 100% sure, but I think I saw Roderick on a golf cart riding down S. Green Dr. in front of Peden.
