Looked to me like the "boom" was referring to his slam dunk, not a new recruit in the offing.

Are you sure? The camera angle made it hard to gauge, but if you look at his feet, he's elevated pretty high at the top of his jump.

Look at the part of the basket support where the McDonalds signage is. That's at an angle when it usually is more straight up and down.

Do you ever look at something and see it for what it actually is? The rim is at 9’. No excuses, no trick camera angles, no shooter on the grassy knoll, the rim is simply NOT at 10’.
