I look forward to this publication each year. Unlike some websites/publications, these guys take time to talk to the coaching staffs at every D-1 school.

As you may imagine, BR quotes Saul at length about almost every player on the roster. Most of it we on this board have already heard or read. I am too lazy to go into great detail and rehash a lot of stuff. What I found interesting...

Saul: "Setty spent more time in the gym this off season than anybody...Block is a good shooter but a terrific passer. He sees the floor unbelievably."

Do not expect much from Dozier, at least initially, as Saul says, "Physically, I think his body will develop over the next year. He'll get better and better."

I think Blue Ribbon's assessment sounds about right..."Ohio is too young to get back to 20 win territory...this will take time to build."

BR picks Ohio 4th in the east...

Here is the part that grabbed me:

"We were a team that didn't move the ball around real well. You felt the transition of three coaches in four years and the loss of two recruiting classes. We had a lack of depth. We were hurt by injuries a little bit. But it doesn't detract from what i think this program can be and has been."

Saul on Jaaron Simmons: "He's a pass-first point guard who sees the floor extremely well. He's just a winner. He's the alpha dog on our team. Our guys looks up to him and respond to him."

It's interesting that sometimes we forget the part about the loss of two recruiting classes. There were a lot of players that could have been fantastic players in those couple seasons that ended up never making onto the Convo floor.

SP makes this point early and often to anyone that talks to him. It is evident to me in what little I have seen live and heard elsewhere so far. The X Factor TY. For the Bobcats. Maybe for the MAC.

Blue Ribbon was first introduced in 1981-82 by Chris Wallace, a West Virginia native who recognized the need for a comprehensive college basketball preseason publication.

Wallace built the book literally from scratch. Working from the basement of his parents’ home and selling books out of the trunk of his car, Wallace helped Blue Ribbon gain a foothold in the market in its first year.
