Concessions sold out of water before halftime. EMT folks are trying to render aid to several fans in my section due to the heat, some having to be wheeled out. Unbelievable that we can't even keep water stocked for a noon game.

Maybe people can stop being babies and stop relying on the supply of plastic bottles to stay out of the hospital. Get a damn drink before you leave the house. Yes there should be water fountains but it's not ou's fault someone isn't hydrated.

Or maybe venues can start letting people bring water in refillable. bottles into games thus reducing the plastic water bottle problem. Nope, selling products at grossly inflated prices is what most venues do today.

Lmao, yeah that one drink of water before leaving for a 3 1/2 game, in 90°+ will keep you hydrated.

Yeah we saw them bringing bottled water back in the stadium at halftime.

Agree it’s bizarre they would run out. Happened east back with Hocutt as AD once I believe.

Schedule the game for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Problem solved.

I agree and keep water off the sidelines for the home team too. Bunch of wimps running a pattern and returning to the sideline and taking a guzzle. Why, back in the day you only needed a few yellow salt tablets for peak performance.

No idea who is responsible for operating concessions in Peden. That said 1st game of the year with what 5 more to follow you would have thought plenty of water would have been stocked to the rafters. Not a good look for anyone involved. Both of my kids played in the HS band so I was involved with “volunteer” band parents manning concession stands over the years. We ALWAYS had plenty of water for warm fall night games and plenty of Hot Chocolate for the colder evening games. It’s not rocket science!

Maybe on days like Saturday they should consider allowing attendees to bring in 2 unopened bottles of water into the stadium of their own accord (i.e. Cincinnati Bearcats prior to their game on Saturday.) Just seeing the number of fans who left their seats to get in the shade under the stands or who were given aid by the EMT staff on duty was very disturbing. Not a good look at all for the Bobcat administration.

Agree it's not a good look at all. Did I mention that scheduling this as a night game, which was totally our call, would have prevented both the water shortage and the need for EMT attention?

However, can't let folks bring in their own water bottle. It could be some highly explosive clear-liquid chemical that just looks like water. Terrorists are always looking for that weak spot in your security planning. Let our motto be: Perpetuum Vigilant!

Saw a show at Wolf Trap 9 days ago. You could bring in the kitchen sink if you wanted to. Same at Tanglewood in western Mass. Many venues are now allowing you to bring in the aforementioned unopened bottle of water or an empty beverage container (Yeti) to fill at your leisure at a chilled water dispenser like they have in airports.

You can carry unopened water into most any venue but Peden.

I didn't experience the water outage but did get a kick out of the huge LED sign on Rt. 33 instructing all football traffic to exit at Stimson Ave. The Stimson exit is closed and has been for some time.

What about after the game? Where did you go for a milkshake on your way home with Athens DQ now closed? Asking for a friend.

The university still shows photos on the campus website without the Sook Center addition to Peden so a lack of attention to details I'm not surprised. No attempt probably in the athletic department to schedule an early season night game with the understanding it correlates with a larger crowd.

Asleep at the wheel.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Access to Stimson from 33 was closed on September 1. If you're coming from Marietta it's been open for some time.

I just sent an email to the athletic department regarding this issue. If/when I receive a response I will post it here.
