Well, I asked ChatGPT and it gave 10-2 or 9-3, and further game-by-game prediction landed on 9-3. Winning all MAC games. That seems crazy, BUT... I think we'll be strong at home, have winnable road games, and even though we miss easy wins with Akron and Kent State we also miss Toledo, so that helps.

West Virginia - L - I've gone back and forth and my heart says we win this, though my head says we give them a battle, but they pull out a close one.

Gardner Webb - W
Bowling Green - W
@ Ball State - W
Northern Ill - W

Miami - W - If this were away, I'd go Miami, but I think we win at home. Will likely be our toughest game.

Conference Champ - I think we get back vs Miami or Toledo (I'll say we take an L, though it would be wild if we went back-to-back after decades of missing)

Writing that out seems implausible, especially adding 50+ new players again, almost all of our WR production gone, and a roster I wouldn't say is as good as years past. I would be happy with 8 wins. Which seems more likely, dropping some random ones vs NIU and BG or something. - but pass the kool-aid yall. ITS FOOTBALL SEASON.

9/20 vs Gardner Webb - (W) They'll be the unfortunate victims of a group ready to let loose after three tough weeks
9/27 vs Bowling Green - (W) Start our defending champs tour with a win
10/4 @ Ball State - (W) Easy
10/18 vs Northern Ill - (W) It's homecoming and NIU is ditching the MAC. Have to win

We got lucky avoiding Toledo and getting Miami at home, so when going game by game I am going with 8-0. If I was predicting on a season-long view, I would say we will drop at least one. Maybe Buffalo, Eastern, or Miami.

The OOC is what it is, just hope we compete. As you can see by my predictions, I think this season could be a case study in how much the gap has widened as we could go 0-3 and look overmatched then run the table in our conference.

I'm actually pretty surprised that almost all of us agree we could go 7-1 in the conference, with a real shot at 8-0.

Of all years to have this brutal of a non-con schedule...

Like I've said a million times, I hope they don't lose focus on that. Losing by 60 at Ohio State could really mess with your mentals. Starting out 0-3. That just sucks to see. Starting your season in a hole. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if we're outscored 150 - 14 in the first three games. That's tough to take regardless of your opponents. Keep your head down and focus towards the end goal, cause I think this is a pretty good squad. I would hate to see them start second-guessing and making huge changes, losing confidence and dropping some early ones vs BG or Ball State. Cause then quicksand becomes very real, and the wheels might truly fall off.
