Started watching you guys this year with Rourke at QB - incredible talent - as a former athletic trainer in college I would say two things encouraged me last night .....

1. He was walking without assistance - no way you have him walking around if you feared a serious ligament injury
2. The way he walked off the field - he was walking gingerly but still able to put weight on his right leg

Hopefully this turns out well and good luck the rest of the season. Big fan in Atlanta.

Thanks for the comment. Nice to hear from someone who actually has the appropiate background to know what he's talking about. Also, nice to hear from a new ESPN-created OHIO fan!

Thanks, Mark and welcome to the Bobcat family. You helped confirm the uninformed, layman's, wishful thinking, hope-against-hope opinions of many of us here. I guess we'll learn the extent of the injury later this week, but it's likely we'll have Harris at QB next week and maybe for the post-season. He did well enough last night and with him getting more reps with the starters this week we have cause for optimism vs BG.

I thought Harris played a good half considering it was his first ever Bobcat half without prior notice. Team has enough weapons around him to cruise next week.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

I was thinking the same thing.

All the Danny Doomers have checked out of the season already.

Best scene scenario is having Route ready for the MACC.

would agree - optimistic he plays again this season - best case scenario he has a sprain - best case - in that he plays MAYBE in a MAC title game - best case.

If Rourke spent the second half on a stretcher I'd agree that it's a prayer to see him on the field in Detriot which is in 2.5 weeks. But he didn't and with the way Toledo performed last night and BG getting rocked 40-6 the week prior the team can survive.

The only loss in MAC play was on Rourke not getting it done in OT against Kent from within the 5.

Now this is a complete stretch. First, you're assuming a game is decided on a single play or possession. You're also not factoring in that he got us to OT in that game. I have to push back hard against this assessment. Rourke threw for 322 yards on 25/39 passing and two touchdowns without an interception in that game. To say he is the reason for the loss is to gloss completely over the fact that our defense gave up 736 yards. Hard to win a lot of games when you have a defense not stopping anyone. Luckily, that remedied itself as the season went along, but that loss is not at the feet of Rourke.

Fair counter argument. My perspective is I expected to have the edge in OT with Rourke against Kent as I watched the lead erode against Kent. It didn't happen as Rourke didn't match the first TD of OT with 4 failed attempts from in the 5. Rourke brings the danger when stretching the open field. The big play capability.
