Seems about right to me based off of everything I've read, who returns what, etc. But keep in mind, the last 6 MAC champions were not predicted to win the MAC Championship. In fact, the last 5 MAC Champions weren't even predicted to win their respective divisions (when the divisions existed). Point being, these predictions carry no weight and often do not come to fruition. The last time a team was picked to win the MAC Championship - and did - was back in 2017 when Toledo was the preseason MACC selection and eventually won the title. The last time a team that won the MAC Championship and was actually picked to win its respective division was Northern Illinois a year later in 2018. The last five years have gone as follows (predicted division winners & eventual MAC Champion):

2023 Preseason Division Winners
East - Ohio
West - Toledo (Predicted MACC winner)
MAC Champion - Miami

2022 Preseason Division Winners
East - Miami
West - NIU (predicted MACC winner)
MAC Champion - Toledo

2021 Preseason Division Winners
East - Kent State
West - Ball State (predicted MACC winner)
MAC Champion - NIU

2020 Preseason Division Winners
East - Bufalo (predicted MACC winner)
West - CMU
MAC Champion - Ball State

2019 Preseason Division Winners
East - Ohio (predicted MACC winner)
West - Toledo
MAC Champion - Miami

Woof....both of the years Ohio was picked to win, Miami ended up getting it instead. Knife twist!

Miami hasn't beaten us a lot over the last 15 years or so but all of the ones they won hurt Ohio’s program a lot.

The Cats have gift wrapped so many championships for Miami.

I wouldn't say Ohio "gift wrapped" anything. If anything, I'd argue Miami "came in and took them," especially last year. Miami had just lost Gabbert the week prior when a bone in his leg broke through his skin on live TV (it was brutal!) vs Toledo. The next week vs Ohio they were playing with a backup QB (Smith) who wasn't comfortable throwing, they trailed 9-0 after one quarter on the road when Ohio jumped all over them early, then Miami just buckled down and put the screws to Ohio the rest of the game. They earned that win last year. They could have folded after what happened the week before and how this game was going, but they didn't, they responded. And they most certainly earned the win vs Toledo in the MACC. Toledo was pretty loaded and Miami simply made them miserable all game long. Miami's title in 2019 also stemmed from a key road win over Ohio when Miami won the turnover battle. Their title in 2010 came despite Ohio beating them that season. And in 2003, Miami beat a damn good Bowling Green team twice that year including for the title in a game that was played at BG.
