The Cats have gift wrapped so many championships for Miami. I wouldn't say Ohio "gift wrapped" anything. If anything, I'd argue Miami "came in and took them," especially last year. Miami had just lost Gabbert the week prior when a bone in his leg broke through his skin on live TV (it was brutal!) vs Toledo. The next week vs Ohio they were playing with a backup QB (Smith) who wasn't comfortable throwing, they trailed 9-0 after one quarter on the road when Ohio jumped all over them early, then Miami just buckled down and put the screws to Ohio the rest of the game. They earned that win last year. They could have folded after what happened the week before and how this game was going, but they didn't, they responded. And they most certainly earned the win vs Toledo in the MACC. Toledo was pretty loaded and Miami simply made them miserable all game long. Miami's title in 2019 also stemmed from a key road win over Ohio when Miami won the turnover battle. Their title in 2010 came despite Ohio beating them that season. And in 2003, Miami beat a damn good Bowling Green team twice that year including for the title in a game that was played at BG.
