You may have been seen on national TV during a football game but will not be as visible sobbing into your oil tender aromatic beer watching the Black Knights roll. (Of course, with props to that stellar named Middie QB.)

Saw on the news that president trump will be doing the coin toss.

Can't believe president Biden didn't attend one Army/Navy Game during his term.

Not going this year because of some upcoming travel (plus the DC venue isn't all that exciting), but I've been to maybe 15 or 20 in my life.

Go Army.

Haven't made it to Navy-Army yet. How hard is it to get tix?

I have seen all the Service Academies play. First saw Army in 1962 at B.U. The march in of the cadets was very impressive.

Saw Navy and AF both at Notre Dame. Saw Navy a couple of times. The mutual respect between ND and Navy was very evident. Both teams stood for the other's alma mater.

I would love to see Ohio schedule a home & home with Army or Navy.

It's pretty hard, unless you're willing to pay a lot or connected. Like most big events, it's all about timing or a willingness to pay a lot on the secondary market.

I saw Ohio play at West Point as a kid. Kareem Wilson was quarterback. But despite a lot of MAC schools on Army's schedule since, we weren't one of them. Now that they're in the AAC probably unlikely.

Fun fact: Solich said no to the Army job the year before he took the Ohio job.

I would like that too, especially Navy. I remember we played Navy sometime this century in basketball. I think it may be been in the TOS Era. It was a home game, and it brought back many memories, as the first collegiate game I ever saw, when I was about 5-years-old, was a Navy baseball game. My father was teaching at the Naval Postgraduate School, which was located in a building right across the street from the building that Dad worked in. So, he took me to a game one time.

On a recent trip to Annapolis we took a tour with a small group and the tour guide knew where the PG school had been located and took us there, and that's when I discovered that the old baseball field, now the practice field, was located right across the street. The only thing I really remember about that baseball game in the late 1940a was the umpire with his chest protector and mask. I thought he looked like a Martian or something really strange.

In 1950, the PG School moved from Annapolis to Monterey, California, and Dad opted to accept President Baker's personal offer and come back to OHIO.

I know this game will probably never be played anywhere but the East coast, but I do think it would be cool if they started moving this game to different cities across the country, maybe even to places with large Army and Navy bases near by. San Diego or Seattle for the Navy? Charlotte (Ft Bragg is somewhat close) or San Antonio/Austin (Ft Cavazos) for the Army?

The way it worked for a long time -- and as far as I'm aware still does -- is that 8 of 10 years have to be in neutral sites, but once every 10 years each school can pick a 'home' game, though in a stadium with a certain capacity (ruling out an actual home game).

Historically, Philly has been that neutral site because it's conveniently located between Annapolis and West Point, and Army's played their 'home game' in New York, and Navy's played theirs in Baltimore.

I'm not really sure why they've gotten off that cycle or where last year's game at Foxboro and this year's in DC fit into things. I know people hated Foxboro though, so don't see that becoming a regular thing. Hopefully they just back to the Philly option, because that's always the best experience.

In 2021 they released a bunch of end zone seats a couple of weeks before the game.

My wife and I were on the army side of the field and had the flyover right over
us.
The helicopter flyover was kind of like watching apocalypse now.

I was sitting a section or two over from there that year.

Great info. The Wiki page does show they have moved this game around, but it's been a while. Pasadena in 1983 is the furthest west they've been since Chicago in 1926. Army-Navy in the Rose Bowl? My god inject that into my veinsssss.

FYI: Ft. Bragg is now Ft. Liberty. Out damn Confederate spot, out!

Why didn't people like Foxboro? I know that the hotels are kind of far away in Boston, but it is a great city to visit.

It's just too far from Boston. You're basically just in a suburb.

Virtually all the Midshipmen and Cadets attend the game. That is why it is played on the East Cost. The expense of transporting the "students" would be too high for games on the West Coast or other locations. It is great that this game is still played with the students in mind.

I enjoy Philly the most of the 3 cities I’ve seen the game in!

On my way, Navy Sideline passes in hand.

I've never understood why anyone would actually WANT to play them. You can't replicate the offense in practice, and you don't get enough time to prepare for it in a single week. Unless it's a Week 1 or bowl game where you have enough time, no thanks.
