UMass has a lot of wanna be alums that will dump a bunch of money into the program. If they win they'll keep doing it, but if not, they will stop in 3-4 years. About 20 years ago they did a similar thing with their hockey program. Lots of money dumped into the program. It took about 5 years to become a consistent winner and then finally NCAA champs. Don't expect a championship, but if they start winning look for the alums to push to join the ACC. And they would actually be a good fit if they build a bigger stadium. This is compared to the max revenue sharing limit of 20.5 million for 2025. My thinking has been the MAC is going to feel its way through what they'll need to offer revenue sharing wise for a few years. They don't want to necessarily spend more than what they need and the FCS conferences set a floor under the MAC. Its also situational as what to offer a player (at this point at least). Those who keep quality coaching staffs through the evolution are going to be better off until revenue sharing becomes more of an exact science. My point is that UMass alums think they belong in ACC.
