Rivals is reporting that 2016 Hialeah (FL) American HS DE Jamal Smith will visit Ohio this weekend. Trying to piece together info on him, looks like he was previously committed to UCF. And at least early in the process had offers from Kentucky, Oregon St., Pitt, NC State and BG. It looks like he just visited South Florida and that Youngstown St. is also involved.

He's projected as a SDE, but I see him at DT. He's a solid 3-star player, and would make an excellent addition to the class.

Agreed. He's the Sayles model. His high school size has him big enough to play DE in college, but let him put on 30 pounds in college and he'll be big enough to play DT.

This kinda reminds me of Papi White's recruitment...a guy that wasn't on the fans' radar until he makes a last minute visit to Ohio and commits. That turned out well. Let's hope this one does too.

Pretty impressive list.

I've seen crazier things happen.

hopefully this is not a non-qualifier issue. He could legitimately improve this class.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

That has explained a lot of the past late commitments Ohio has received from guys that had bigger offers, but this could be different.

At the beginning of the recruiting video, the first thing that comes up is "ACT 25", so unless he has grade issues, it would seem he will qualify.

I can't believe he picked YSU over us, still happy with our defensive lineman
