Someone please put up some results from the true freshman class.  How many were there signed in February and did they all show?  How many burned a year?  Who is rumored to look really good in practice but may have seen no game action?

What does the depth chart at RB look like with the two B's having completed their eligibility?

How many starters does OHIO lose on each side of the ball next season?  Are any in the class of 2013 expected to take over a starting role in 2014?

This doesn't answer all your questions, but here are some answers:
18 Freshmen signed and showed up, along with 2 Jucos. One Freshman (Leavitt) signed, and is rumored that he will appear in January (for next year's class). Another, Graves, was not eligible, and I have no expectation he will appear in a later class, but you never know. One other verbal, Chris Carson, was determined to not be eligible, and didn't sign, but went to Georgia Military College, where I believe he redshirted this year. Often when that happens the player from the 2013 will appear in the 2015 class as a Juco.

Both Jucos played (McLeod, Tautuaiki). The ones that burned redshirts are Wood, Sayles, Stewart, Basham, and Mangen.

At RB, you have Daz Patterson, Tim Edmond, plus Dorian Brown and walkon Brian Palermo, plus whatever true freshmen end up in this class. I'm hoping for two, but for now there is one, Robbie Walker.

As far as starters, a lot are lost, but many of those were hurt much of the year. Lost starters:
Offense - In theory, ten starters lost, all but the center (but many of these missed games)
OL - Prior, Lechner, Johnson, McGrath - (the 4 Seniors accounted for only 30% of the season's snaps)
TE - Hill, Talbert (Mangen had 2 starts)
WR - Dovell, Waters, Foster (Cochran started 5, and Reid, L. Smith, and S. Smith played extensively)
Backs - Tettleton, Boykin, Blankenship

Defense - is not hit hard at all. You might call these 5 starters, but again, most of these missed some games
DL - Barber, Branz (Laseak started 9, k. smith 3, Basham 3, Sayles 1)
LB - Moore (missed 3 starts)
DB - Carrie, Hughes, Shaw

I would expect at several from the class of 2013 to be starters next year. Wood and Mangen on offense both started games, and on defense Sayles and  Basham did.

I think that the 2013 class was very good, but keep in mind that they will still be only redshirt Freshmen/true Sophomores next year. We won't know for sure just how good the class will be for a couple more years. A lot of the starters next year will be members of the recruiting classes of 2011 and 2012.

Here's a projected starting offense:
One Members of class of 2010 - Cochran (Sr)
Five Members of class of 2011 - McQueen (Jr), Powell(Jr), Lucas(Jr), Vick(Jr), L. Smith(Sr)
Two Members of class of 2012 - Watson (So), Patterson (Jr)
Three Members of class of 2013 - Wood (So), Mangen (So), S. Smith (So)

All told, 2 Seniors, 5 Juniors, and 4 Sophomores, a very young offense. The projected 2d teamers also have only 2 Seniors, Mark Smith and Tim Edmond, of the top 22 offensive players, 18 have at least 2 years left.

For Defense, a preliminary lineup looks like:
Three Members of class of 2010 - Ingol (Sr), Kristoff (Sr), one of these at SLB/Nickle (Teipel/Grady/Atwell/Carpenter) (Sr)
Six Members of class of 2011 - Bass (Jr), Wells (Jr), Russell (Jr), Johnson (Jr), Crutcher (Sr), Purdum (Jr)
One Members of class of 2012 - Laseak (So)
One Member of class of 2013 - Basham (So)

All told 4 Seniors, 5 Juniors, and 2 Sophomores, again, a very young defense. Other than SLB/Nickle, the only other Seniors on the 2 deep would be McLeod/Davis at DT. Thus 16 players on the two-deep have at least 2 years left.

When you look at this, you can see quickly that both offense and defense will be very young next year. These players did play a lot this year, so they have some experience, but they are still young. You can also see quickly that an unusually high number of players on the two-deep will be back for 2014.

Yes, I recognize that some players will surprise and move up the ranks, displacing some of these, so more members of 2012-2014 will appear on the two deep than I anticipate. This will serve to make the lineup next year even younger than this early projection would show.

Those senior lineman in and out of the lineup all the time was a big bowl of confusion in 2013. I don't see the advantage of redshirting the lines when most of these guys need a medical redshirt year anyway. Get whomever is comfortable with the playbook and stick them on the field.
