Ohio has offered a scholarship to Columbus Whetstone High School LB/DE Dezwan Polk. The 6-4, 193-pounder also has an offer from Toledo.

Permit me an honest, if naive, question: its my understanding that football coaches/staff aren't allowed to comment on prospects until a LOI is signed, so how is it such common knowledge what schools have offered scholarships to what players?

Most of the info comes from the player, the player's family or their HS coach.

For the most part, this info comes from the player himself (via a recruiting website, newspaper, etc.) or his high school coach. At scoutingohio.com, I believe the players are able to update their own profiles with their offer lists, stats, etc.
