Touches all bases: recruiting, golden-age of Ohio football, indoor facility, academics, etc. . .

Wondering who might be the "good one" Solich was recently recruiting in Nebraska.

Thanks for sharing.  I am also curious about who the "good one" is.  Any ideas, Doc?

Only negative in this article is the fact that we're apparently still stuck at $9.7 million for the IPF.  Been stuck there since November.  Last I heard (in early December), they had several proposals out to big-time donors that would have closed by now...so I guess maybe they said no?

Football's been over for a while so it probably was the LBer Schany who committed fairly early.....only other 2 we seriously looked at was a WR (Grigsby) and we have a ton of those now and OL Anderson that we came close to offering but didn't.

Grigsby committed to Southeast Missouri State.

A word about future coverage in the Dispatch.  As frequent readers of the paper know, the Dispatch will downsize to a tabloid this Fall.  All departments are now in the midst of meetings to determine how to deal with a smaller news hole.  While reporters will obviously have to "write shorter," there is also bound to be less coverage outside "core" subjects.  One way to get coverage, of course, is to field winning teams.  Obviously, today's story would never have appeared had the football program not had a successful season.   But whether the same story could appear next year under the new format (and if it did, whether it would be as comprehensive) is something to consider.

Gosh (I almost said "Gee" but I didn't want a reference to Gordo), it's hard to imagine the Dispatch with even less relevant news than it now has.  We dropped the weekday paper months ago because we really couldn't justify the cost, given the little amount of fresh material in it.  If they're going tabloid (to better use The Other Paper's facilities?) they should just concentrate on state and local news and sports, and leave the national and world stuff to the Internet.  And the first thing they should cut is Ben Marrison's column on Sundays.  Too damn self-serving.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

Thumbs up to the Dispatch & Znidar, the past few weeks have had pretty good Bobcat coverage. Hope it continues!

Marrison is welcoming readers' input on the paper's upcoming changes (what should be kept, added, etc. . .). I have sent some ideas from the viewpoint of a long-time subscriber with degrees from osu inc. and The Ohio University who would love to see an increase of coverage for one of my alma maters and a decrease for the other. Not holding my breath (because I'm a long-time subscriber).
