Daylight can't get here soon enough.  While Roger Lewis would have been the exclamation point on this class, I believe this is the best class Ohio has had with or without him.  I think the coaching staff did an outstanding job of addressing needs while getting high quality talent.  With Sebastian Smith and Wiggins we have nine 3 stars on Rivals.  Stars don't mean anything once they are on campus, but man I like it.

I think that Wiggins and Smith address our biggest need. Branz and Wells make our Defensive Line extremely deep! I think we have outstanding depth on the offensive line with talented guys coming off redshirts and returning starters.  I think the biggest question for us is at RB and LB, but just need one guy in each position to emerge.

Early prediction...12 wins next season!

I do think 12 wins is a viable prediction for 12'. The talent gap between OHIO and the MAC just became all that bigger with this recruiting class and I expect recruiting classes like this and 2011 to become the norm at Ohio. I can understand having some reservations about the ILB position next year with the graduation of Noah Keller and the intangibles he brought to the position for 5 years in an Ohio uniform. At RB though Donte Harden was tagged the starter in the offense because somebody had to be it and it made perfect sense as a 5th year senior. The RB position overall should have more depth with a few redshirts becoming available and Patterson is supposed to be stud PR/KR type. The biggest change to look forward to next year is the defense is going to have a lot more speed in the early part of the season when everyone is healthy. Wiggins and Smith might play right away but one thing about the extra signing at WR is it allows for a good amount of redshirting too for development down the road. I feel like this class is more about putting the finishing touches on the program but its good to have balance with the long term vision.

I remember in 2000 when I and a few others including Monroe had spent weeks or even months waiting for a verbal and then the LOI fax from Stafford Owens. We thought it was incredible to get one three star player.

Kind of ironic, one of the first fax machines I ever saw was back in 1984 when I volunteered in the Sports Information Office. I hope they have a new one for today. The old one was the kind that had the cylinder that spun and took a long time to send and receive.

I remember visiting the campus about six years ago for a business meeting and walking around campus watching students talking on their cell phone and sending text messages to friends. Amazing how far technology has come as I remember people waiting for phone calls in the old Read Hall phone booth in 1981 and being thankful that I had an electric typewriter that had a built in correction ribbon.

Technology has come a long way and so has our football program. These are great times for our program and hopefully all of our recruits will not only have great success on the field and in the classroom, but also make some wonderful new lifelong friends as I did 30 years ago when I was a freshman in Athens.

The other fun thing that happens today is that in one day the ratings services rivals and scout will magically rate hundreds of kids that as of right now have no ratings. There are lots of kids that they have never gotten around to rating, even though they have had a year to do so since film was available, and many months since verbals were announced. For example, Kurt Laseak gave his verbal 9/13/11, yet rivals has yet to get around to rating him. But by the end of today or tomorrow, someone will assign stars and a rating to him. Visualize a couple guys in a film room, frantically pressing against a deadline to get ratings done on time, with hundreds of films that have to be watched, knowing they all must be rated by tonight..... Yeah, right. More likely they pull the ratings out of .... um, some dark cavity. ESPN, for what it's worth, just leaves a lot of kids rated 45 (not rated), which at least is honest.
