Bigger commit tonight was Lucas Powell...NU wanted him BAD as a walk-on or possibly a grayshirt.

He was Bubba Starling's center in HS.

Yeah, kind of a surprise. Great highlight real, FWIW.

Where are these scholarships coming from? (Of course, that's assuming they're all scholarship players)

Powell has been on here several days, so he's not a surprise like Bass is.  Sorry, I mssed your post -t came up while I was typing mine.

No prob, sorry I had missed the Powell commit earlier, it was just reported in Nebraska right before the Bass commit.

Everyone out here thought Bass was going to a directional Missouri school or South Dakota State.

2nd half of season highlight reel. 3:00 mark looks like Barry Sanders' famous run v. Bears.

I think Doc's link shows this in order. In state semis, his team down with time running out, he picks a pass with less than 2 minutes left, and then on the next play imitates Barry Sanders and goes 76 yards for the winning score.

Still not sure where he came from "radar-wise." Did he play much his junior year? Can't find much from the 2009 season.

He seems to be a replacement for Mose Denton.

Devin is a very talented football player and I am happy to see him going to Ohio.  Bass is a far better impact player then several other players from Nebraska going other places... This is a big pick up for Frankie!

I'm impressed.

I think he can not only play a little D, but also be a decent special teamer and return some kicks.
