that's shocking to me. He is such a talented running back but seems like a head case. I've seen him play twice for Parkersburg and he was dynamic.

He had offers from many schools including us. I don't understand why he would choose to walk-on at Marshall over accepting a scholarship somewhere else (unless his scholarships were pulled)

I was wondering the same thing and also looked at why Sturdivant signed with Toledo and was told by an excellent source that 9 times out of 10 these kids have academic issues meaning they are going to juco or have to sit out their first year in college.

Wasonga missed over half his senior year due to injuries.

Jim Grobe once told me that both Marshall and Toledo have community colleges on their campuses.  That, he said, enabled them to expose good but academically non-qualifying athletes to their campuses without their being part of the football programs.  Grobe saw that as providing a strong recruiting advantage for Marshall and Toledo.
