Solon (12-1 last year) opens their season on Friday hosting Shaker Heights (1-9 in 2009). This will be the opener for both Kyle and LB verbal Jovon Johnson.

From that footage Ted, it looks as if Kyle has some quick feet. it doesn't look as if he is 177lbs. there does he? . Wait untill he gets into a real weight lifting facility , and has a big line in front of him . He looks as if he has some promise. It is going to be nice to follow some of the new guys along their senoir season. starting this week! thanks Ted

Lot of good stuff in the Cleveland Plain Dealer for high school football.

Top 40 high school football players from Northeast Ohio 2010.

Kyle checks in at #24, in a region loaded with D1 talent. Several of our offers and former recruits listed. Some of the guys we have offered that are still on the board:

3.Shane Wynn
4.Cardale Jones
23.Percy Johnson
35.Aaron Macer (who looks like he'll be starting a blog ,surely influenced by the writing stylings of former Twinsburg standout Jeffrey Fitzwater :) ).

Pretty good debut for the two future Cats. Three TD's between the two of them it what appears to be limited action.

I'm ticked Glenville/Iggy aren't playing Week 1 anymore... I never need an excuse to watch all that talent on one field, and the fact that we are going after Cardale is more then enough of an excuse if I even needed one!

I've seen crazier things happen.

ESPN has updated their grade of Kyle, and now evalute him as a 71. Ben Russell is a 78, and Jacob Welter is a 74.

Solon 42, Worthing Kilbourne 13.

Next up for Solon is a game at 1-1 Mentor. Mentor is coming off a 38-17 win at Strongsville. Mentor was #6 prior to their win in the Cleveland Plain Dealer top 25 last week.

EDIT:
Solon's game against Mentor will be shown on tape delay on Sportstime Ohio Friday night after the Indians game.

No change in the new Cleveland Plain Dealer top 25. Solon remains at #2, Mentor remains at #6. Mentor is 1-1, and their loss was to #3 St. Edward.

Cards miscues lead to Comets victory.

As mentioned in the STO thread, Hammonds was banged up in the 2nd quarter. One article mentions a head injury, another a rib. Kyle did come back in the second half however from whatever was ailing him.

Solon's next game will be this Thursday against Parma. Both teams are 3-0. Solon remains #2 in the Plain Dealer Top 25 behind 3-0 Glenville. Parma remained at #20.

In the first AP statewide poll, Solon checks in at #9.

Solon 38, Parma 13.

Great to see this line from Kyle. Looks like he is back and healthy. 13 carries, for 220 yards, including a 4 yard touchdown run. I'm not sure of his other runs, but obivously that means he had 12 carries for 216 yards, or 18 yards a carry.

Solon 4-0 hosts 0-4 Hudson on Friday.

Solon remains at #2 in the Plain Dealer Top 25 behind Glenville. They are 2-0 against the Top 25 with wins over Mentor (13) and Parma (20).

In the State AP poll, Solon remains at #9.

In the first release of the DI, Region I computer rankings, Solon is #3.

Nationally, Rivals dropped Solon to #88 after their previous ranking of 53.

Solon (5-0) will travel to Mayfield (4-1) for the first divisional play (Valley) in the Northeast Ohio Conference on Thursday night. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Ohio at 7 (pregame at 6:30).

Solon (5-0) remains at #2 in the Plain Dealer Top 25. Solon is 2-0 against the PD Top 25 with wins over #8 Mentor 31-21, and #20 Parma 38-13. Mayfield is not ranked.

In the Ohio AP Poll, Solon remained at #9.

In the computer ratings, Solon dipped one spot to #4 in D1 Region 1.

In the Rivals Top 100 National poll, Solon moved up one spot to #87.

Solon wins 48-14 over Mayfield.

Kyle Hammonds, Chris Humphrey help Solon run over Mayfield.

Solon's quick start leads to a 48-14 victory.

Injury depleted Mayfield squad falls to top-flight Solon.

Solon (6-0, 1-0) next travel to Brunswick (4-2, 1-0) to play Friday night. Both teams are tied with Strongsville to top the Valley Division of the Northeast Ohio Conference.

Solon remains at #2 in the Plain Dealer Top 25. Solon is 2-0 against the current Plain Dealer top 25 with wins over #8 Mentor and #18 Parma. Brunswick is not ranked, and lost in their only matchup with a top 25 team to #6 Twinsburg.

In the Ohio AP Poll, Solon moved up one spot to #8.

In the computer rankings, Solon moves up two spots to #2 in Division I, Region I.

In the Rivals top 100 National poll, Solon moves up 8 spots to #79.

Solon 27, Brunswick 0.

Solon (7-0, 2-0) continue conference play Friday hosting Nordonia (2-5, 0-2). Solon and Strongsville are the last two remaining unbeated in the Valley Division of the Northern Ohio Conference.

No movement in the Plain Dealer top 25. Solon remains at #2. The Comets are 2-0 against the Top 25 with a win over #7 Mentor (31-21), and #17 Parma (38-13). The last two opponents on Solon's schedule are ranked: #23 Medina and #16 Strongsville. Nordonio is 0-3 against the top 25 with losses to #4 Maple Heights (26-14), #6 Twinsburg 28-14, and #23 Medina 55-21.

In the Ohio AP Poll, Solon again moved up one spot, now registering at #7.

In the computer rankings, Solon remains at #2 in the Division 1, Region I listing.

The Rivals Top 100 elevated the Comets 15 spots to #64.

Solon 45, Nordonia 0.

Solon (8-0, 3-0) host Medina (7-1, 2-1) on Friday night. Solon is in sole possession of first place in the Valley Division of the Northern Ohio Conference. Medina, Strongsville, and Brunswick are all one game back at 2-1.

Solon remained at #2 in the Plain Dealer Top 25. Solon is 3-0 against the current top 25 with wins over #6 Mentor 31-21, #15 Parma 38-13, and #21 Brunswick 27-0. Medina is #19. They are 0-1 with a 34-14 loss to #22 Strongsville.

In the State AP Poll Solon remained at #7 but picked up 2 first place votes.

The computer rankings for Division 1, Region 1 kept Solon #2. They are 1-0 against the Top 8 with the win over Mentor.

In the Rivals Top 100, the Comets moved up 6 more spots to #58.
